The trophy was created for the Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists (CIAT) for the winning diploma projects of London universities Architectural Technology students.

Being a student Award, marking a start of a professional career, while serving as a memorabilia of the years of studying the best principles of architecture, design and technology the design is based on Golden Ratio- one of the iconic principle of architecture.

The initial idea was inspired by the logo of CIAT, a scroll of paper and a column with Ionic capitel, both incorporating a scroll, which is inscribed in the centre of Fibonacci Golden spiral. Paper, symbolising theory and column - building practice are in the centre of architectural education.

Just like a Fibonacci spiral, which can extend and unwind into infinity, the student award symbolises an eternal development of a personal creative path.
